AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli (2nd Wicket)- 215 runs in 105 balls
Mumbai Indians vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2015 – Mumbai

Despite never having won the IPL title once, Royal Challengers Bangalore have some strong, unbeaten duos, like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. And when they’re together on the field, it’s already no chance for the opponent. The same happened in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in 2015, where the RCB’s opening batsmen AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli made the habitual winners, Mumbai Indians to lose the match in their home ground.

Though it was a bad start for the RCB team when Chris was out after 20 runs only. But, Virat and AB made sure that RCB must stand strong. They together made a record of 215 runs over 105 balls. This was the time when AB scored a brilliant 133* off 59 balls leaving the opponent team bowlers awe-struck.

Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh (2nd wicket)- 206 runs in 96 balls
Kings XI Punjab vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2011 – Dharamsala

Back in 2011, Kings had the most feared partnership of skipper Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh. This Australian duo caught the RCB bowlers off-guard, scoring a total of 206* off 96 balls and making it hard to chase for the RCB.

It was when both the batsmen joined hands on 2nd wicket and then, there was no going back. Adam Gilchrist scored a century and a 6 off 55 balls and Marsh stayed unbeaten with 79 runs off 49 balls.

Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli (2nd wicket)- 204 runs in 110 balls
Delhi Capitals vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2012 – Delhi

In IPL 2012, while playing against Delhi Capitals, it wasn’t a good start for the RCB when the Delhi bowlers broke Chris and Dilshan’s partnership. But, 2nd came Virat Kohli, the highest scorer in the IPL history so far. Virat is being known for his great partnerships and high hitting abilities.

And this time, he made a great combo with the Jamaican batsman. Both of them together scored the best IPL partnership score of the season, which was 204* off 110 balls. Chris scored a marvellous 128 over 62 balls, while Kohli scored 73 off 53 balls. And Delhi team ended up with 194/9 alone.

Their duo not only helped the team win the match, but they surpassed the score to be chased, having made 189 off 98 balls.

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner (1st wicket)- 185 runs in 98 balls
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Royal Challengers Bangalore, in 2019 – Hyderabad

Having made the record back in 2012, David Warner once again marked his name in the list of highest partnerships in IPL. But, this time being the SRH skipper.

The strong partnership between Jonny Bairstow and David Warner helped the team score 185 for the first wicket. It was when Warner smashed his unbeaten 100* off 55 deliveries and Jonny scored a massive 114 in 56 balls.
